The forum with history teachers and high school students on the topic “Fate of Albanians in Nazi camps” was successfully closed. An extraordinary participation of high school teachers mainly from Tirana but also from the districts were part of the forum and discussion about the study conducted by historians Prof. Dorian Koçi and Prof. Marenglen Kasmi.
The meeting was attended by the director of DMO Albania, Mrs. Eva Kushova, representative from the German Embassy and the Austrian Embassy, as well as the deputy director of the Educational Directorate.
Ms. In her speech, Kushova greeted all the participants and gave a summary of the project, while the historians Mr. Koci presented the completed study, while the historian who prepared the curricula for teachers and students added on the importance of this study which should be included in the curricula of secondary schools. The project was praised and appreciated by the vice-director of the Educational Directorate, who said that we will change steps to make it part of the curriculum of the history subject.
Some of the teachers raised some questions about whether there will be continuity of such projects for the past, the answer of which was confirmed by Mrs. Kushova, who mentioned that this was the first project and we, as DMO Albania, will definitely be committed to bringing others so that the new generation gets to know the history.
At the end of the event, prizes were awarded for the best essays and paintings, as well as certificates of participation.
